DruidDensity no longer exists.

I have been pretty lazy ever since starting this blog. It was my first one, and I had no idea of the upkeep. I also am no longer playing WoW. At all. I switched to a new game, called Aion.

As of such, I'm discontinuing this blog, permanently for all that I can tell. I also have no plans to return to WoW.

Have fun - and I'm out. =)

Feral damage per second at 80. (NOT UPDATED)

THIS IS NOT UPDATED FOR THE ULDUAR PATCH.

I recently was asked a question by a fan, ixioxi, on youtube.

"Hey mate, I'm currently leveling up a level 65 druid, but I'm not sure what spec I want to be at level 80. Someone told me cat DPS sucks at that level, and someone else told me it doesn't... is druid kitty dps nerfed to less in 3.0.8? Or should spec moonkin for raiding (I dont really like moonkin but the dps rocks I heard) thanks!
:) "

I decided to reply to him and use it as a blog post as well, so here you guys go.

The reason why you might keep hearing that "feral dps sucks at 80" is because we literally have the most complex rotation in the game. It's learnable, but it takes some time and a small bit of effort. If you don't get it down, it can greatly mess up how much dps you do.

As for does a boomkin do better dps? It really depends on the gear level/skill of both of the feral and boomkin. If they are relatively the same it would be a race. The boomkin might come out on top but by very little. I raid with two boomkins, both of which have slightly more gear than I do; and I'm almost always beating them.

Largely it's because of how I set up my stats. Feral druids tend to go towards agility because the basic idea is that 1% crit gives 1% damage, but it stops giving that much extra damage the higher you get. That's why it's beneficial to get a lot of strength.

In fact, strength might be our most important stat, because if we crit, and only do two damage or such because our attack power is so low, the crit ends up being completely useless. So make sure to gem and enchant for strength, as you will get more than enough crit from the agility on items already.

I hope this answers your question, thanks for asking it.

That's all for today guys, keep checking back for more.

Update soon!

Much like the title says, there will be an update soon, I've just been really sick and haven't been able to write. Expect a long post on several subjects (or perhaps just one), specifically cat dps at 80. I'm also working on a new video so keep your fingers crossed that I get it out this month.

On the previous post, it's not important since I'm not going to be switching over, it was just idle thought.

Guild Confusion.

Haha, I recently quit a really good guild called "Obsidian Flame" for a more raiding oriented guild, and because the Gm and the other people in the guild pretty much went inactive. All the ones that were there pretty much also quit at the same time I did.

Anyway I logged onto Ventrilo to see if any of my old guild mates were on, and found out that the server name had changed a long with a bunch of people that were not in Obsidian flame were on.

Granted, I was confused, but I did my research and found that the other guild played on a different server. I switched over there made a quick horde toon and whispered the Gm of that guild.

Turns out he was the old Gm that started playing on that server. He offered to let me join if I ever planned on re-rolling horde even if it was just for fun. He was a great guild leader so I'm seriously considering it. So who knows, you might have a Tauren Shaman talking to you about their perspective instead of a Night Elf druid. ^-^

Queue times and intresting blogs.

Heh, I've had a mild urge to blog a lot more, I don't know why. I'm not really going to cover much, just some of my gear that I'm upgrading with.

First of all, if you want to read a different perspective on info for feral cats or bears, check out ThinkTank and Secret Agent Cat.They provide great gearing details, and other interesting ideas. ThinkTank crunches numbers, and Secret Agent Cat is more of just a druid perspective, but they are both great!

So here is some interesting info. Queue times are up again. I restarted my computer, and got this when I attempted to log into WoW.

That's right, a 1012 queue time. Talk about annoying.

In other news, I am gearing up really quickly for being a feral druid. I got Gored Hide Leggings and a couple other epics. I farm for only the best feral gear you can get pre-naxx, I advise you to do the same. That's all for today, later.

Healing as a feral druid and big news!

First off I delayed writing this for lack of inspiration and because I was trying to ding 80. I am here to say that I managed to ding 80. Hurrah! *crickets chrip*

Anyway., I'm back to write this post. It's probably not going to be very long and I might not even finish it. If you are reading this, then I did.
Alright first off I will not be completing my Druid Patch videos. I'm working on a much larger project(s) that require my attention. I will however try getting another video up soon. I also feel that everyone who cares already has read the public test realm patch notes so I feel that it's useless to make more.

On a side note I recently encountered a good friend of mine from my guild that commented on the Nurturing Instinct talent which is in the feral talent tree.

He wanted to know if it was possible to heal with this method. I am here to tell you that, no, it is not. However there are some possibilities in healing while leveling with this talent. First off there is no possible way that you will be able to heal a heroic or raid. You will be able to get better heals if you get aggro on yourself and you want to pop one off, but chances are you will be dead before you even manage to get shift out especially if it's in a 25 man raid or even a 10 man. That is why this spell is crap for endgame. At best it could be used for leveling when you pop out a heal between mobs.

That's all for today folks. Sorry it was so short, just make sure to come back soon for the next update.

Whew, it's been awhile.

My first video that I'm doing for this blog sometimes instead of just posting. Also, sorry for the Lag, I was in Dalaran and it started messing up on me but don't worry, I'll try to fix it next time along with getting a way better quality, but bear with me it was my first time.
